Narayana Murthy's Career
N. R. Narayana Murthy is the founder of Infosys, a worldwide software company located in Bangalore, India. He established Infosys almost 30 years ago, working as the CEO from 1981 till 2002, and as Chair and Primary Tutor during the period 1981-2011. Under his authority, Infosys was detailed on NASDAQ in year 1999. He is the Chair Emeritus of the Infosys.
Mr. Murthy articulated, designed and applied the Global Distribution Model, which had become the base for huge success in the IT services, freelancing from India. He had led key business government projects in native India. He is also IT consultant to various companies in China.
He provides inputs on forums of HSBC, Honda Foundation, Rhodes Believe in, Native indian University of Company and UN Foundation. He provided advice as participant of Unilever board between 2007 and 2010, the head of International Institution Information Technology, Bangalore between 2002 and 2012 and the head of Native indian Institution of Control, Ahmedabad between 2002 and 2007. He has also provided consultancy on the forums of Cornell University, Singapore University, INSEAD (Paris), Wharton University and Graduate student University of Company at Stanford University.
Mr. Murthy was detailed as amongst the “twelve greatest business owners of time” by Money Journal this year. The Economist rated him amongst the 10 most-admired worldwide business managers in year 2005. He had been granted Padma Vibhushan by the Govt of India, Hord d’honneur by Govt of Portugal, and CBE by English government. He is the first Indian champion of Ernst Young’s World Business Owner of Year prize and Max Schmidheiny Freedom prize. He had showed up in high positions of Business Owners and Creators released through Time, Company Week, CNN, and Lot of money, India Today, Company Standard, Forbes and Financial Times. He is another of the Indian Nationwide Academia of Technological Innovation and Foreign Participant of U.S. Nationwide Academia of Technological innovation. He was granted the 2012 Machine Honor. He obtained the 2007 Ernst Weber Honor from Institution of Electrical and Gadgets Technicians, Inc., USA (IEEE). He has had about 25 honorary doctorates from colleges in India and overseas.
